Yay! A toy that intrigues the baby without driving the parent nuts.,
My 10 month old likes high stimulus, so she seems to get bored with her toys quickly and doesn’t think much of toys that don’t DO something. This piano has a lot going on and so far it’s been enough to keep her entertained better than any other toy.
Primarily I like its design. The ‘composer’ function doesn’t just play one song quickly, repeatedly and loudly as most piano toys with some kind of ‘demo’ function do. When the baby hits a key, it plays one phrase. The next time a key is pressed gets another musical phrase. It’s pleasant to listen to, you aren’t left with one short tune running through your head and there’s seven different melodies. In short, it seems like someone put some thought into what would make a piano toy fun and interesting to play with. It doesn’t feel like it’s been dumbed down on the assumption that parents don’t care and babies don’t know the difference.

Great toy with one design flaw,
This is a fun little toy that my 6-month old son enjoys playing with. As another reviewer mentioned, one of the great things about this piano is how varied the melodies are. Not only does it play classical pieces but your child can compose his/her own music as well, which means mom and dad don’t have to hear the same melody over and over and over… big plus!
The one down-side is that the speaker is on the bottom of the toy, which means that if your child doesn’t hold the piano on his/her lap while playing with it the sounds is very muffled. My son still likes to play with it – muffled sounds and all – but I can’t help marveling that the designers put the speaker in such an unfavorable location. Einstein would blush to know that such an obvious design flaw was incorporated into a product with his name on it!

Very Happy Baby,
My 9-Month old loves music and after taking Kindermusik classes I decided to buy this set for him. He can’t stop ringing the caged bell and we have to take it away when it’s time to eat or take a nap. All of the toys are durable and he picks them up with ease. So glad I got this set and didn’t buy the individual pieces separately. I’m going to buy more of these as gifts.

Mixed review on the 4 piece set,
There are some major drawbacks to this set, but there are also elements that I really like. First, the toys are too big to be used by a baby. My son is 8 months and quite big for his age. The tambourine is completely unmanageable for him. The rainmaker is too fat for him to pick up but he can roll it on the ground, which he enjoys sometimes. The bell is easy to grasp for a baby but too heavy to shake well.
On the other hand, the rattle is just the right size for a 6-12 month old and my son really likes it. And I must admit that although the bell is heavy for my son, he loves it… If he catches a peek of the bell anywhere in the room, he will make a bee line for it. And he has now figured out that it is much easier to shake if he uses both hands.
